History
Otnesbrygge and the old settlement were developed as a trading post in the 19th century and hold a rich historical and significant cultural value.
Otnes was the old village center in Valsøyfjord. A steamship dock was established here in the 1860s, roughly at the same time as Otnes Church was built. The pier was constructed in 1897 and housed commercial activities until Otnes Handel (Otnes Trade) was closed in 1991. Since then, the pier has been restored and furnished to resemble its appearance from the old days. Today, it serves as an activity center for the Goat Boat culture.
Otnes harbour offers a summer-open restaurant and pub. It also hosts a variety of cultural events throughout the summer.

The house pictured below, Alfhild's house, was built around 1899. The house is named after its former owner, Alfhild.
